The long awaited match did not disappoint with the weather being near perfect.110 anglers fished the match with 9 different species being caught throughout the day. 52 people caught fish which proves although a difficult venue the fish are there to be caught!!

Top Five Barry Angling Festival winners are as follows,

1st  Barry based angler John Bray who fishes for Holton Road Anglers took the honours with a impressive 11.92 kilos. This  consisted  of 2 conger eels, he was fishing at Rhoose sewer. John won the £500 first prize and £105 for the heaviest bag of fish. 

2nd was South Wales stalwart angler Paul Crook also from Barry. Paul fishes for local club Sea View Lads & he caught 3 conger eels & a pouting for 10.01kilos at the green ledge. Paul picked up £250 second prize.

3rd was Dean Curtis from Cardiff with 6.25 kilos consisting of 2 conger eels. He won a Any Fish Any Where 15ft beach caster donated by Julian Shambrook.

4th was past winner Chris Read fishing for the Garry Evans Match Team with 6.11 kilos consisting of 2 conger a bull huss. Chris  fishing at Rhoose point and won a IMAX beach tent donated by Imax

5th was Richard Potts fishing for Rhondda Valley SAC C with 6.04 kilos consisting of 2 conger eels. Richard  won a Bob Radman head lamp.

Best Pouting Pool went to Ray Christo with a fish of 0.39 kilos. Ray won £105.

No junior fish. Paul Osmond Haulage has donated the £100 prize money to the Junior section of the Welsh International side.

Garry Evans Seamaster most points at the end of the series top 3.

1st Rory Jenkins last year Seamaster winner lead the table with an impressive 91 points & received £100

2nd  place was taken by Roy Tapper with with 72 points, he received £60.

3rd was Mike Mather with 56 points, he received £40.

Garry Evans Seamaster Final top three results.

Ist was Chris Stephens from Porthcawl, he wins a £250 Tackle Voucher and the coveted title of GARRY EVANS SEAMASTER CHAMPION 2017/18.

2nd was Steve Roberts, he wins a £150 Voucher.

3rd Dave Llewellyn, he wins £100 tackle voucher.
