World Championships, Spain 2013

This years World Championships held in Torremolinos, Spain proved to be a tale of two halves - two halves of the beach to be precise!  One end for the Ladies Teams anyway was far less productive than the other end of the beach where we did well in the two matches held on that section.  This Championships was full of 'what might have been'.  But the team battled through the two difficult matches and on the last match we managed to restore Welsh pride and lift the team two places and out of the bottom spot.

Congratulations to the Men's Team for their silver medal - a fantastic result to finish the year for competitive Welsh sea angling and the result of months of hard work, preparation and dedication.  But most of all a big well done to my team who battled through the disappointments, stuck together as a team supporting each other and most of all kept their heads held high and fished their socks off on the last match to redeem the team position and team pride - a true show of strength and a positive sign for the future of the team, well done ladies.

World Championships - Holland 2012

The team consisted of Helen Pearce, June Howell, Pam Worrall, Denise Collier new cap and Annalise Edwards also a new cap.  The team finished in 8th place overall, which did not reflect the amount of time and effort which was put into the event.  However there were some good individual results which we can be very proud of - 17th place Helen Pearce, 20th place Pam Worrall and 29th place Annalise Edwards in her first World Championships.  Thanks to the Dutch Federation for an extremely slick event - probably the best organised event in many years.

Thanks must go to Mumbles Motor Boat & Fishing Club for the loan of their club van and trailer for the event.  But most of all to our sponsors Stena Line and Tronixpro for their continued support of the team without which we would struggle to compete.
